Project 128 - Zwolle, The Netherlands

Pieter Steynstraat

Parents seeking accommodation for their disabled children partnered on this initiative with STUDIO SITEC and DeltaWonen and a site in the post-war reconstruction district of Dieze transpired as the right location. On the more than 4,000 m2 site, 14 owner-occupied starter homes in two blocks are combined with 10 care units across two care homes. The existing context is reflected in the scale, sections and materialization of the rows of houses. The outside of the urban development is made from red bricks and roof tiles, reflecting the district, but expressive vertical roof elements are added. Meanwhile, the inners of the project are plastered white, which distinguishes it. Even a new street name was given to the project!
