The Potgieter Company is located in the Heino Business Park. The existing, one-storey high commercial building was expanded with a new mass for a showroom in which an office space 'hangs' as an independent volume. The client wanted the new part to manifest itself in relation to the existing building. This led to the choice of special façade-cladding and to the mass of the extension: a sloping roof that transitions into a façade-finish of weather-resistant Corten steel with windows as razor-sharp solitary objects cut from the façade and two distinct joint types within the Corten steel plates. This creates a special appearance and the desired urban accent.
