House W is built on the site of a former Grade 1 Monument, a traditional Saxon Farmhouse that burned down. In our design, for the new house and barn, housing guest accommodation, we bridged the modern, open style that clients wanted with the historical reference of the farm, recreating the thatched double-buckled pitched roof. STUDIO SITEC created a family home, oriented to the garden with the kitchen as the heart of the home. The main entrance zone with the central steel staircase and natural light from above introduces the modernity that permeates the home. House W has received extensive press coverage.
