Project 195 - Zwolle, The Netherlands

De Nooterhof

De Nooterhof’s nickname ‘The Monopoly House’ gives a quirkiness to The Netherlands’ city of Zwolle. It was first coined in a local newspaper, referring to the nature education center in the education and leisure park, The Nooterhof. We designed this building as part of an urban landscape plan we developed for our client the Landstede. The urban/landscape plan is a combination of nature education buildings, school and museum within a revitalized nature education park with fields, forest and waterways. The school (C), the Museum (E) and the new bridge (11) remain unbuilt.
